We educate inform, organize and mobilize ratepayers, residents and taxpayers.

The vision and energy for making DC a community where stewardship of local energy, power and water resources, and locally produced Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, comes directly from DC’s grass roots and organizations.

The Consumer Utility Board’s members come from DC SUN, the Sierra Club, DC Climate Action, and local Advisory Neighborhood Commissions, and Civic Associations.

The public and these grass roots organizations have made astonishing progress toward making this vision a reality, confounding expectations.

But these efforts have not been met with open arms by our utilities, our regulators and our government agencies.

*We do not provide direct services to ratepayers with billing or service problems, rather we inform them to demand regulators hold utilities accountable and, when necessary, that legislators enact regulatory reforms.
